On March 14, The School of Agricultural Engineering and Natural Environment (ETSIAMN) at the Polytechnic University of Valencia hosted the closing ceremony of the 5th University Week of Social Economy, organized by the ENUIES Network of CIRIEC-Spain. The event was held in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Accounting and Business Administration (AECA) and CEGEA.
In its fifth edition, the #SemanaUniversitariaES set a new record for activities organized, with 150 events in 34 universities across 8 countries. The total number of participants in all activities is estimated at around 5,000. Once again, it was a great success for the ENUIES Network of CIRIEC-Spain, whose aim was to showcase the intense university teaching and research activity on the sector of cooperatives, worker-owned enterprises, mutual societies, social enterprises, and the third sector, and to strengthen links with representatives of the social economy and their networks.
The 5th University Week of Social Economy closed in Valencia, the Spanish Capital of Social Economy 2024, with a presentation of the successful case of JANUS Fruit, a enterprise supported by the second-degree cooperative Anecoop, which focuses on “express slow food,” a new concept of healthy food with quick preparation for a dynamic and demanding audience.
Following this presentation, the closing ceremony of the University Week of Social Economy 2024 took place, with the participation of Constanza Rubio, the director of ETSIAMN, accompanied by Juan Juliá, director of CEGEA and president of the ENUIES Network, and José Luis Monzón, director of CIRIEC-Spain.
The University Week is organized by CIRIEC-Spain via the ENUIES Network, which includes university research centers and institutes in the field of social economy.
