Making of the international tripartite definition of Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE), adopted at the 110th session of the ILC

"I would like to share some highlights from the making of the definition of the SSE, that was adopted as part of the International Labour Conference (ILC) resolution on decent work and the SSE in June 2022. The same definition was also included in the UN General Assembly (GA) resolution on promoting the SSE for sustainable development adopted in April 2023".

Seoul successfully hosts the first CIRIEC International Research Conference on Social Economy held in Asia
From July 4 to 6, the 9th CIRIEC International Research Conference on Social Economy was held in Seoul, South Korea. Organized by Sungkonghoe University, with the collaboration of CIRIEC-International, the Conference has had the participation of 300 people from 41 countries, who have presented 130 communications on the most current issues of the social and cooperative economy from a global perspective to the local or regional.

OECD’s report ‘Beyond pink-collar jobs for women and the social economy’
Building on many data sources and country examples, the new OECD’s report analyses women’s employment in the social and solidarity economy (SSE), explores challenges to gender equality in the SSE)and provides policy recommendations to recognize women’s work and leadership in the SSE and in the wider economy. It also suggests ways to foster their participation in high-growth sectors within the SSE, such as technology-intensive and green sectors.

9th EMES International Research Conference on Social Enterprise
