Micro and small social economy enterprises often lack resources and opportunities to engage in green transition processes. The transnational initiative “Skills for Transition: Increasing the Impact of Small Social Economy Enterprises (SKI.F.T.)” aims to provide solutions, as does the SOFIGREEN project, which will benefit 90 SMEs.
Launched in October 2023, SKI.F.T. is co-funded by the EU SMP-COSME programme. It brings together representative social economy organisations and training providers from Denmark, Poland, and Italy, as well as two European networks. Specifically, these are Kooperationen (DK – project leader), FISE (PL), CSA COESI (IT), Demetra Formazione (IT), Legacoop Emilia-Romagna (IT), REVES Network, and CECOP.
On May 21, the consortium published an open call offering micro and small social economy enterprises the opportunity to receive free advisory and coaching services to increase the success and impact of their green transition-related projects. The aforementioned services will be provided in Danish, Italian, Polish, or English.
Furthermore, a select number of applicants who successfully participate in the advisory and coaching activities will have the opportunity to apply in a subsequent call, to be launched in October 2024, for social economy enterprises to receive financial support for the acquisition of capacity-building services and to participate in a transnational seminar on green transition at the European level, scheduled for the first half of 2025.
The call is accessible HERE.

Similarly, the European SOFIGREEN project, funded by EISMEA – Social Finance – aims to help social economy enterprises in their environmental processes and activities through capacity development, personalized coaching, and better and more informed access to financial instruments.
This call is aimed at selecting 90 social enterprises operating in Italy (Molise, Basilicata, Apulia, Campania, Calabria, Sicily, and Sardinia), France (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), and Spain (Andalusia). SOFIGREEN training aims to enhance their readiness, facilitate access to finance, and foster collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders at various levels (territorial, national, and European).
Selected participants will embark on a comprehensive journey designed to empower them in the realm of sustainable entrepreneurship. Through tailored training sessions and personalized coaching, they will strengthen their environmental performance and acquire the necessary financial resources to support their investments.
Customized training, networking opportunities, and access to finance are SOFIGREEN’s strengths.
