On 17, 18 and 19 October 2022, the 10th edition of the Mont Blanc Meetings will take place at the Cartagena de Indias Convention Centre in Colombia, organised by SSE International Forum.
SSE International Forum is a network of Social and Solidarity Economy actors created in 2004, which includes Social Economy organisations and enterprises from 4 continents. Its objective is to promote the Social and Solidarity Economy at a global level. Currently, SSE International Forum has 35 members in 14 different countries.
SSE International Forum has already held 8 Mont Blanc Meetings, an alternative to the Davos Economic Forum. The 9th edition, in 2020, was in digital format, due to the pandemic. The 10th edition is moving away from the Mont Blanc summit for the first time to meet in the Americas.
The general theme chosen for this meeting is ‘The social and solidarity economy, local and international solutions in a changing world’. In addition, 10 sub-themes will be addressed, including training in Social Economy, legal frameworks, social transformation, equality, inclusion, the need for statistical tools, financing and public policies.
The three-day event will bring together SSE leaders from around the world, as well as different actors in the Social and Solidarity Economy. Advocacy for better recognition of the SSE at local, regional, state and international levels will be carried out. To this end, tools for reflection will be established with which to collectively generate proposals and agreements to contribute to the challenges of our time from the SSE.
